The encryption art trend is unstoppable! Local NFT group exhibition showcases over 70 “Hong Kong-style” illustrations and digital photography works!

The trend of NFTs has been sweeping the global art world since the beginning of this year, with more and more artists beginning to explore this new mode of creation to preserve the unique originality of their work. Recently, auction houses and galleries in Hong Kong have been launching auctions and exhibitions with NFT as the theme, including the “Tech x Art – Beyond Imagination” digital art exhibition co-organized by Cyberport, Articoin, KaChick, and Digital Oasis.

The exhibition showcases over 70 works by local artist Vivian Ho and six local award-winning photographers, Wong Sui-sum, So Ka-kan, Lee Hoi-to, Kwok Tsz-kei, Lau Siu-kei, and Vincent Cheng, focusing on Hong Kong sentiment, ecology, or urban environment to convey the message of sustainable urban development.

These works have all been tokenized, using the characteristics of blockchain technology that are tamper-proof and malleable, allowing these digital works to have genuine certification in the virtual world. Artists can also conduct transactions through code themselves, earning partial profits from each transaction, gradually developing a sustainable creative ecosystem.

With the advancement of technology, the use of digital drawing has become one of the mainstream ways for artists in the new era. This has smoothly led these artists to venture into NFT, just like popular local illustrator Vivian Ho, whose works mainly revolve around culturally rich Hong Kong scenes, Cantonese dialect, and popular culture. This time, a total of 8 pieces are on display. She mentioned that the emergence of NFT technology is still a very new concept in the art world. However, this technology can provide artists with another way to share their work; and through each transaction, artists can receive a portion of the proceeds, which definitely helps support artists to continue creating.

This exhibition not only showcases some starry sky photos, but also captures the dazzling night sky with its magical play of light and shadow.
