Fine Art Asia (Fine Art Asia) will participate in this year’s Basel Art Exhibition in Hong Kong, and from May 19 to 23, the Fine Art Asia Pavilion will showcase a group exhibition “Wearing‧Joy: Once Modern” at the Basel Art Exhibition in Hong Kong, presenting a series of precious collections in the form of a focus project.
Antiques are considered contemporary art in their own time, gradually evolving into objects with historical value and aesthetic appeal as time passes. The exhibition “Wearing Joy: Once Modern” has been featured in 8 renowned art galleries, each focusing on different categories of art throughout history, offering an artistic journey from the past to the present. It blends classical art with the modern environment, allowing the beauty of the classics to transcend into contemporary art.
Key exhibits include paintings from the Jiesiyuan Gallery, such as Wang Yuanqi’s “Imitation of Da Chi Mountain Water Map,” which is a ink on paper with the inscription “Da Chi Jie Yin Wo Jiang Xiang, Wu Bai Nian Lai Bi Mo Xiang. Jie De Xi Shan Xiao Ji Mo, Bu Chou Feng Yu Jin Zhong Yang Lu Tai Qi Yu Yi Man Bi.” And Pan Tianshou’s “Ink Cat” with the inscription “Lazy bald Shou is hasty,” echoing the lazy posture of the cats in the ink paintings.
Specializing in Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Islamic art, David Aaron brings the marble statue “Figure Wearing a Panther Skin” and the “Cuneiform Tablet with Dedication” that once appeared at a Christie’s antique auction.
The Hang Yi Museum, which exhibits Chinese classical furniture and scholar’s items, will bring the “Huanghuali Round Chair” from the early Qing Dynasty and a pair of “Baozi Stone Drum Stools” from the Qing Dynasty in the group exhibition “Wearing · Enjoying: Once Modern”.
In the field of Chinese antiques and artworks, Yan Mu De Yi brought the “Qing Shi Ta” from the Ming Dynasty, as well as the “Nanmu Gen Fang Shi Shan” from the late Qing Dynasty; Maria Kiang also exhibited Chinese scholar’s desk ornaments, such as the Qing Dynasty wood root imitation stone seat “Ni Liu Zhai Cang” model, and the elm wood “Zuo Sun Yan” imitation viewing stone.
