The first joint exhibition “StayTuned…” has also started, allowing art lovers to appreciate the works of Bas De Witt, Rhys Lee, Shannon Peel, Christopher Regner, and Aaron Elvis Jupin all at once.
5 artists from around the world create works centered around the present moment, sharing their various visions of the future through their art pieces, connecting with each other in a brand new art space.
Dutch artist Bas De Witt uses elements of Greek column architecture, Roman decrepit sculptural figures, and oil painting to create whimsical and surreal sculptural portraits, humorously depicting the struggles of human civilization and the daily struggles of life. The curved columns and twisted lines, like deflated balloons, are his experimental exploration, while he uncovers the possibilities of sculptures through color and texture.
Rhys Lee from Australia incorporates the colors of classical paintings into street art style, showcasing a strong and powerful vitality in his artwork through unique graffiti composition techniques, symbolic imagery, and metaphorical methods.
The elements of graffiti can also be found in Shannon Peel’s work, where he uses rich and vibrant colors and animated techniques to reshape traditional painting forms, exploring the techniques and possibilities of painting in an experimental direction. The work “Face Plant with sunflower” presents the multifaceted nature of static objects.
Exhibitors also include Christopher Regner and Aaron Elvis Jupin, who use spray guns as their main painting tools. The former’s works often involve themes such as religion, cultural indoctrination, and the impact of technology on society, selecting unrelated images to create collage-style portraits, experimenting with different unique effects. Aaron, on the other hand, uses spray gun techniques to depict familiar materials such as cartoon characters, and skillfully utilizes black negative space to highlight the humorous side of things.
