Looking back on the past and present of the Capital Theatre in the 1950s, the exhibition “Finding You, Me, and Him in the Capital” showcases over a hundred nostalgic collectibles!

Formerly known as the Xuan Palace Theater, the Emperor Theater Building, with a history of 68 years, was acquired by New World Development last year. The former theater part of the Grade I historic building will be preserved, and Culture For Tomorrow will bring the immersive historical experience event “Finding Your, My, His Emperor” on the eve of the restoration work, allowing everyone to revisit the past of the Emperor Theater!

The old movie poster lightbox on the exterior wall of the Imperial Theatre, the “Little Shanghai” exhibition hall, the classic performance stage of the Xuan Palace Theatre, the replica large truss model, all reproduce the nostalgic colors of the last century, and everyone can also embody classic roles such as “great entertainer,” “legendary architect,” “glamorous songstress,” “great director,” and experience the brilliant years of the Imperial Theatre.

The event also showcases over a hundred collectibles, including a 1950s movie bridge used for introductory scenes, theater staff uniforms, postcards from the King’s Road tram station, old aerial views of North Point, as well as various old movie tickets like VIP seats, regular seats, and midnight showings. Additionally, you can also admire 1970s movie posters painted by Hong Kong movie poster master Yuen Tai-yung, as well as movie posters for Bruce Lee’s final film “Game of Death.”

In addition, veteran musician Huang Zhicong will share memories of “Wei Lun Records” inside the Royal Capital Mall, reminiscing about the past with the music streaming app KKBOX. Musicians such as Wu Fengming, Lv Qiao’en, and Zhang Keyong will also perform at the event. Meanwhile, 90s movie poster artist “Paperless” Lin Jiaheng has painted a “Full House” poster on the exterior wall of the Royal Capital Mall, presenting the unique charm of classic movie characters in a nostalgic style. It is definitely a must-visit spot!
