Hong Kong artist Felix Chan collaborates with Tom Dixon! Together they create The Angel Tree, illuminating Upper House for Christmas.

by

Tom Dixon is a prominent name in the design industry, and for creators, it is definitely an honor to be able to collaborate with him. Hong Kong artist Felix Chan recently had the opportunity to work with him, creating a sustainable Christmas tree for Upper House. It is truly something to be proud of!

Unlike traditional Christmas trees, Felix drew inspiration from the dazzling lights that illuminate many landmarks and the sides of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong during Christmas. With a brilliant kaleidoscope and graceful lines, he created The Angel Tree, which is like an installation art piece that is avant-garde and sparkling.

The Angel Tree is based on a cone-shaped structure made of deep carbon black stainless steel. Felix has transformed Tom Dixon’s signature silver Melt Cone LED light into the body of an angel, and created angel wings and a halo using rainbow light tubes, making the outline of the Christmas tree more distinct. The light fixture is made using vacuum metal spraying technology and has a melted glass shape, giving it a fluid appearance. When lit, the surface changes from a mirror-like finish to semi-transparent, emitting a sparkling light and exuding a positive energy, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.

It is worth mentioning that Upper House embodies the spirit of giving during the festive season. The Angel Tree is accepting charity auctions, with all proceeds donated to the AIDS Care Service Association. Bids can be emailed to kristina@upperhouse.com, with a deadline of January 3, 2024.
