Hosted by Sotheby’s, “Contemporary Curated” not only focuses on auctioning works by contemporary artists, but also features invited curators who are celebrities with a passion for art from different fields such as music, business, fashion, and food. When “Contemporary Curated” made its debut in Asia in 2021, it collaborated with the king of pop, Jay Chou, creating a buzz at the time. In the new season of “Contemporary Curated” contemporary art auction, Sotheby’s has appointed the art-loving Chen Bolin.
The preview of the new “Contemporary Curated” Asian auction series will be held at the Sotheby’s art space in Hong Kong from July 21st to 26th, and the live auction will take place at the Sotheby’s space in Hong Kong (Phase 1, 5th floor, Pacific Place) on July 27th. Chen Bolin, in collaboration with Sotheby’s experts, has selected a series of masterpieces, including works by Mark Grotjahn, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, and Yoshitomo Nara, as well as outstanding works by up-and-coming artists such as Yasumasa Morimura, Kei Imada, and Miu Komatsu.
When discussing this curating experience, Eddie Peng said, “I want more people to understand these true creators. Every set of values or ideas that I show to the audience may plant a seed in their hearts. I hope to present the best to everyone.”
