Johnnie Walker collaborates with visual artist James Jean to launch a new limited edition of Johnnie Walker Blue Label for the Lunar New Year, titled “Blue Dragon.”

James Jean’s design reinterprets the zodiac of 2024 in a dynamic way. In traditional Asian culture, the dragon is regarded as the most auspicious zodiac, symbolizing vitality and prosperity. This aligns with Johnnie Walker’s brand spirit of constantly moving forward. With James Jean’s delicate and layered brushwork, the vibrant blue dragon emerges from a rich variety of flora and fauna, showcasing a lifelike and heroic demeanor.

James Jean revealed that his new design was inspired by the rich and profound layers of flavor found in Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is crafted by the master blender Emma Walker and her team, who carefully select rare and premium Scottish whiskies. Out of every 10,000 casks, only one can showcase this extraordinary taste, including the rare “ghost distillery” spirits. Each sip is full of character, with a smooth and rounded entry, a rich honey sweetness that emerges first, accompanied by subtle notes of pepper and dried fruits, and finally concluding with a gentle smoky finish. The multiple flavors are perfectly balanced, creating an unparalleled depth.

James Jean said, “The bottle conceals unique design elements, much like this incredible whiskey, full of layers. This work is adorned with chrysanthemums, and golden honey drips slowly, attracting hummingbirds to gather nectar. All of this is inspired by the golden and transparent liquid of Johnnie Walker whiskey. I hope that the public can uncover these veils and find more details from different patterns, just as I have always hoped that my works are pleasing to the eye from a distance, and can reveal more subtleties when examined closely.”
