Fashion brand Anteprima unveiled a series of collaborative works with renowned Japanese artist Kei Takemura at SS24 Milan Fashion Week, reimagining fashion from an artistic perspective.
Kyoko Takemura, who launched the first shot for Anteprima’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, was born in Tokyo in 1975. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts. Her works mostly consist of layered white embroidered fabrics overlaid on photographs and paintings, creating flat installations. Embroidery, for her, expresses a “temporary” state and reshapes her memories of her original family and cherished ones, bringing back and materializing things that no longer exist.

Introduced by a mutual friend, Anteprima’s Creative Director, Izumi Ogino, got to know the renowned photography collection “Playing Cards – Memories and stories overlaid on playing cards” by Kyoko Takemura. From this, she drew inspiration for the 2024 Spring/Summer collection, naming it “GAME ON,” and expressing people’s longing for playfulness through vibrant designs.
Kyoko Takemura’s Wirebag, designed for fashion exhibitions, incorporates elements of card games, embodying the concept that “life is a game, and fashion is the ultimate playground.” She uses the “Queen” card to symbolize “female empowerment” and interprets the brand’s core philosophy of starting from “love” through embroidery.
In addition to the three works presented in the form of New Standard Wirebag, the clothing of the new season also comes from Kyoko Takemura’s “Playing Card”, once again showcasing the dazzling design that proves the inseparable connection between fashion and art.
