Historic fashion brands always promote their brand culture and values through hosting exhibitions. Following the earlier Gucci Cosmos exhibition in Shanghai, Gucci will hold another large-scale exhibition at 180 Studios in London from October 11th to December 31st this year, showcasing the most iconic designs from the brand’s 102-year history through avant-garde methods.
British artist Es Devlin previously designed the concept for the exhibition’s first stop, and this time also created a dedicated installation for 180 Studios, adding elements that pay tribute to London. Inspired by London, Guccio Gucci returned to his hometown of Florence in 1921 to establish a handmade luggage workshop.
In addition, Italian curator Maria Luisa Frisa continues to curate exhibitions, showcasing never-before-seen new exhibits from the Gucci Archive at the London station. According to the brand, Gucci Cosmos will visit Paris and Kyoto next year, using styles and elements that cater to the local characteristics, in a meaningful way that echoes the unique culture of each city and country.
