Lady Gaga’s official tattoo artist sets up shop in a Dutch museum, with affordable prices for getting a Limp Bizkit tattoo on your body!

The Poor Man’s Rembrandt Project”

The creations of the famous Dutch Golden Age painter Rembrandt van Rijn, who lived in the 17th century, have been passed down through the ages and are now considered museum-worthy. Regardless of their high value, it is difficult to purchase his works even if one is wealthy, highlighting the artist’s significance in art history. However, recently, the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands has introduced an artist-in-residence program that allows ordinary visitors to easily “collect” Rembrandt’s art!

The museum recently announced the launch of “The Poor Man’s Rembrandt Project,” inviting internationally renowned tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher and his team to set up in the museum. Even Lady Gaga has been a patron of theirs. The tattoo artists will create tattoos inspired by Rembrandt’s paintings for the audience. In line with the project’s principles, the prices are set within reach of even the common people. Interested individuals can have a custom tattoo for prices ranging from $109 to $272, which is quite appealing.

The director of the Rembrandt House Museum, Milou Halbesma, said that the tattoo project aligns with the museum’s ambition to embrace diverse contemporary artists. She said, “We have always been looking for projects related to Amsterdam and craftsmanship. We see ourselves as the home of artists. Rembrandt not only lived and worked here, but also taught students here. We hope to invite more Dutch artists to work in our new space and connect with the public.” This time, the officials considered tattoo artists such as Schiffmacher and Veldhoen, hoping to engage with current popular culture and the younger generation in a fresh way.

However, according to official information from the museum, this event was “sold out” as soon as it was launched, and there are no more spots available. However, interested members of the public can still watch the artist’s residency activities through online live streaming. Everyone, please remember to stay tuned.
