K11 Art Mall transforms into a playful art supermarket, bringing authentic products such as embroidered goldfish bags and mahjong tablecloths!

As the Lunar New Year approaches, are you ready to prepare your New Year’s goods? This Chinese New Year, K11 Art Mall breaks tradition by transforming the chi K11 art space into an Art Supermarket, offering a variety of playful art pieces for you to appreciate and purchase as unique “New Year goods”!

This supermarket is co-curated by artists Hui Hoi Kiu and Wong Ka Chun. They have collaborated with over 30 local artists and creative units to bring over a hundred art pieces. The venue recreates the layout of a supermarket, dividing it into different areas such as beverages, snacks, fresh meat, etc., to showcase creators’ art toys, sculptures, graphic creations, art installations, street art, and trendy items in a groundbreaking way.

Starting from the eye-catching giant art wall next to the entrance, visitors can explore the authentic atmosphere of Goldfish Street and tea restaurant booths, then check in at the “Thousand-Hand Neon Light” large art installation. Pushing a supermarket shopping cart, everyone can freely discover all kinds of art treasures and immerse themselves in the impact of popular culture!

These art pieces are all unique, including hand-embroidered goldfish by Hsu Kai-jiao on tape, bringing to life the local bagged goldfish. In addition, this endless longevity felt and a single felt are finely crafted, full of festive atmosphere, very suitable for home decoration.

Body Painter Yu Wing-yi, who is good at prop making, combines various body painting techniques and patterns with the fresh meat department of the supermarket to create lifelike “Snowflake Moon Ba Niu” and “Pig Lian Bihe” using materials such as paper and plastic. The realism is extremely high, and it is almost indistinguishable from the common fresh meat in supermarkets. Both the name and design are full of playful elements, symbolizing abundance in the new year for everyone.

From January 22nd, for four consecutive weekends, multiple local brands will join hands to hold a Chinese New Year limited Pop-up, bringing a variety of local handmade accessories, special Chinese New Year foods, floral art boutique, and other New Year gifts and design boutique, allowing everyone to easily shop for New Year goods. How do the artists use creativity to transform the exhibition space? Why not come in person and discover it for yourself!
