The autumn auctions of major auction houses have finally come to an end, and Phillips has achieved new heights in this year’s auction results. As we enter the end of the year, to celebrate the Christmas and New Year’s arrival, they are presenting a special “B-612 Planet” online auction, featuring a series of works inspired by the core ideas of the classic children’s literature “The Little Prince,” including dreamy creations by Javier Calleja, Rokugai Asako, Shimoda Hikari, Kato Izumi, and Edith Pujol!
The theme of this online auction is inspired by the classic work “The Little Prince” by French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Although it is a children’s literature, the story has influenced generations of people, making everyone yearn for the mysterious and beautiful B-612 planet in their hearts. This popular fairy tale encourages people to look beyond the surface of things and explore the hidden truths from the heart.
The auction revolves around the themes of innocence, ignorance, purity, loneliness, companionship, and the universe discussed in “The Little Prince,” featuring a selection of related works.
Highlights of the auction include contemporary artists who are highly sought after by collectors and have sparked a collecting craze, such as Javier Calleja, Rokugai Ayako, Kato Izumi, and Edith Puentes, who recently set a personal auction record at the Sotheby’s Hong Kong Autumn Auction.
The auction also ingeniously brings a limited edition IWC Pilot’s Watch inspired by “The Little Prince,” featuring a blue dial inspired by the book and delicate vintage Arabic numeral hour markers, making it both exquisite and stylish!
In addition, a group curated by the art platform ARTboratory, bringing together artists from the UK, US, Japan, Thailand, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, will also be auctioning off “The Little Prince” themed artworks. They use their own distinctive artistic language to reimagine, explore, and interpret the thought-provoking philosophy inherent in this milestone literary work.
This online auction will start accepting bids tonight at 9 pm and will end on December 14th. Still wondering what to give to others for Christmas? Perhaps you can find the perfect and thoughtful gift from this auction!
