Sacai’s 2023 Autumn/Winter collection is themed around deconstructionism and blurs the line between streetwear and formalwear. The collaboration with Moncler and Carhartt is also a major highlight of the collection, cleverly combining elements from both brands to create a fresh sensation.
The series plays with different materials, especially in the style of jackets, which are presented in a remarkable way, such as A-line coats and windproof jackets, all presented through deconstruction, collage, and cutting techniques, bringing a strong visual effect.
The collaboration between Sacai and Moncler features several unique designs. One of the garments transforms a down jacket into a “hanging accessory” worn on the back, paired with a finely tailored suit, breaking the common perception of down jackets as bulky.
As for the collaboration between Sacai and Carhartt, it showcases a reinterpreted and collage technique, such as combining MA1 bomber jackets, workwear coats, and knit designs together, adding visual layers.
