At the time of the release of the 2023 Autumn/Winter menswear collection, the brand has not yet announced the successor to former menswear creative director Virgil Abloh. The collection was conceptualized by designer Colm Dillane from New York streetwear brand KidSuper and designed by the LV menswear fashion studio.
The fashion show begins with the short film “Growing Up” directed by French filmmakers Michel Gondry and Olivier Gondry. The film depicts the process of a boy growing up from birth, childhood, adolescence to adulthood, with the fashion show set in a series of interconnected rooms representing the different stages of a man’s life.
This is the second collection designed by the brand’s menswear fashion studio, and with the addition of Colm Dillane’s creativity, it still retains Virgil Abloh’s DNA. The suits and coats that kick off the fashion show are printed with the words “Fantastic Imagination?”, indicating that this will be a collection full of various imaginations.
From the clothing, it can be seen that Colm Dillane has injected his unique artistic elements, including oil painting prints, vibrant colors, and large portraits, which are full of childlike and lively street atmosphere. One of the styles is covered with letters, with each piece of paper printed with scanned patterns handwritten by studio members in their respective national languages, leaving traces of everyone’s life.
