Saint Laurent brand menswear has not held a physical fashion show for several seasons. Creative director Anthony Vaccarello specially chose the circular exhibition hall of the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection museum in Paris to present the new collection.
The technique of incorporating elements of menswear into womenswear designs has been present in fashion history for a long time, with brand founder Yves Saint Laurent being one of the pioneers. This season, Anthony Vaccarello reverses the approach by applying elements of womenswear to menswear.
The series opens with a bow tie chiffon women’s shirt, directly showcasing the graceful side of menswear. Other styles such as patent leather long coat, bottle collar dress, suit paired with a sheer cape, etc., all achieve an admirable elegance and sleekness, giving off a romantic and charming feeling.
