#Milan Fashion Week: FENDI kicks off, Bottega Veneta, GUCCI make surprising returns

The new season of Milan Fashion Week has officially begun, with the organizers confirming that the seven-day schedule will take place from February 22nd to 28th at the end of this month. Additionally, it was announced that this season’s presentations will include up to 169 related new season events.

Despite the resurgence of the Omicron variant in Europe, Milan Fashion Week this season has decided to bravely confront the pandemic with a very strong lineup. With as many as 169 presentations, including 57 physical fashion shows, 8 online fashion shows, 59 “one-on-one” presentations, and 10 online presentations. However, the focus of this season’s presentations will undoubtedly be on several key brands returning to Milan Fashion Week, including Gucci led by Alessandro Michele and Bottega Veneta under the direction of Matthieu Blazy.

First, let’s introduce the latter. This return will be the first fashion show after former creative director Daniel Lee’s sudden divorce, and it will also be the debut of successor and new creative director Matthieu Blazy. Bottega Veneta, attending fashion week again this season, will be the highlight on February 26th at 8 pm local time. On the other hand, also returning to Milan Fashion Week is GUCCI led by Alessandro Michele, set to debut at 3 pm on February 25th, expected to once again bring both men’s and women’s collections; and on the same day, led by Donatella Versace, Versace, which previously confirmed it will only present a women’s collection, will also debut.

In addition, Giorgio Armani, who announced the emergency withdrawal from Men’s Fashion Week last month, will also be present at this Women’s Fashion Week. The two major brands under the label, Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani, will definitely present their new season collections at the physical fashion show; Palm Angels, after a long absence, will return to Milan Fashion Week. Glenn Martens, who presented the “Earth Show” at Haute Couture Week last month, will also bring Diesel’s first physical show on February 23; Ferrari, which debuted in its own factory last year, will also be led by Rocco Iannone and participate in Milan Fashion Week for the first time, along with Ambush and Aniye Records, becoming one of the brands participating in Milan Fashion Week for the first time.

Other highlighted brands and events include FENDI, Prada, MM6 Maison Margiela, Moschino, Tod’s, Jil Sander, Dolce & Gabbana, etc. For more information on Milan Fashion Week, please stay tuned for future reports.
