The Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2021 menswear collection, designed by Virgil Abloh, was recently unveiled in Seoul. Amid the pandemic, the brand chose to release it in the form of an online short film, featuring global brand ambassador and Korean supergroup BTS as models, exciting fans worldwide!
The short film was directed by film director Go-woon Jeon, in this over 8-minute online fashion show, BTS members each wore 7 sets of new autumn and winter styles, leading the audience through the show in the video. The series is inspired by Virgil Abloh’s reflection on different identities and professions, using the styles of writers, artists, ronin, salesmen, gallery owners, architects, students, etc. as a blueprint to explore society’s definitions of different roles.
The fashion show opened with Jimin, dressed in a gray and white pinstripe suit, carrying a silver Monogram Mirror Sac Plat handbag, which was quite eye-catching. The camera then followed leader RM, who appeared in a coat adorned with airplane decorations, wearing a gentleman’s hat and carrying a Monogram Mirror hard-sided suitcase, creating a luxurious look.
And similarly dressed in airplane-themed outfits are SUGA and Jung Kook, the former pairing it with seasonal highlight sneakers; the latter wearing an oversized floor-length coat, exaggerated yet elegant. J-hope, on the other hand, with silver-white hair, interprets a floral pattern suit, a very eye-catching look.
In terms of accessories, the most eye-catching one is the LV “coffee cup” shaped handbag in V’s hand, inspired by the Monogram canvas crossbody bag. Not only is the white italic logo printed on top, but the extremely playful design has become the focus of this season! The video ends with Jin, who wears a red plaid coat paired with a green Monogram handbag, creating a strong contrasting visual effect.
