The global epidemic continues, Hermès men’s creative director Véronique Nichanian collaborates with theater director Cyril Teste for the third time to create an online short film for the Spring/Summer 2022 men’s collection. The fashion show, themed “Outdoor Gathering,” seems to respond to the need to escape reality in the new normal.
The short film was shot in the iconic stone courtyard designed by French architect Auguste Perret, Cyril Teste constructed a triangular stage made up of screens of different sizes, each screen smoothly displaying the models’ catwalk, with each effect meticulously calculated.
To echo the outdoor style theme, this season emphasizes a light, relaxed, and free feeling. Véronique Nichanian weaves different fabrics together, such as turning paper into textiles, blending Toilbright fabric with cotton outer layers; or using visual elements in clothing, cleverly resolving the complexity of the structure in seemingly casual shapes.
The use of color is also one of the highlights of the series, with gray-pink, light green, celadon green, light blue, bright yellow, rose, and other colors blending together to bring exclusive colors for summer; many sweaters feature giant daisy patterns, giving people a sense of optimism and vitality, encouraging everyone to face the future with a vibrant spirit.
