Its ceramic bezel features a tachymeter scale, providing practical functionality for the wearer, while the sunken chronograph sub-dials and Super-LumiNova® luminescent markers and numerals seamlessly blend with the fashionable design. Both watches are equipped with the IWC Schaffhausen in-house caliber 69385, offering a water resistance of 10 bar (100 meters).

IWC Schaffhausen was the first in the watchmaking industry to use this material and obtained professional technology through collaboration with the French aerospace company Aérospatiale. The grade 5 titanium alloy is 45% lighter than ordinary steel, increasing wearing comfort.
In addition, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 “Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team” special edition (model IW388306/07) is made of Ceratanium®, combining the lightweight of titanium and the hardness of ceramic, presenting a unique matte black color after high-temperature treatment.
One of the features of these watches is the tachymeter scale on the ceramic bezel, which allows the wearer to measure average speed related to distance traveled. The design of its chronograph subdials and the hour markers and numerals with Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating ensure excellent readability both during the day and at night.
