Zegna collaborates with London footwear designer Daniel Bailey to create the Triple Stitch sneakers, paying homage to traditional Japanese woodcraft techniques.

Earlier, London footwear designer Daniel Bailey released news on social media about collaborating with Zegna’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori to redesign the Triple Stitch sneakers, creating anticipation for what the two parties will bring.

The Triple Stitch MRBAILEY sneakers, which made their debut at the Zegna 2023 Summer Fashion Show, are inspired by the traditional Japanese wood preservation method called “yakisugi”. They are made with layered premium suede and leather, and undergo a carbonization process. In terms of design, the shoes incorporate elements of hiking, including a partial mesh sock lining and laces, combining advanced functionality with traditional craftsmanship.

The shoes are made of black, white, gray, and Zegna’s iconic horse chestnut suede and leather. The uppers are adorned with a series of triple-cross details, paying homage to the hand-sewn “XXX” emblem found on the brand’s tailored fashion. The lightweight shoes feature a handmade wrap-around midsole and a removable insole design for added comfort.
