Apple TV+ fashion drama series “The New Look” will tell the stories of these 20th-century fashion legends.

Apple TV+ new program “The New Look”, as a fashion enthusiast, what stories are you looking forward to it telling? The life of Mr. Christian Dior? Or the fashion anecdotes of Mr. Christian Dior? In fact, it is much more than that.

Apple TV+ announced last Thursday that it will launch a new series project named “The New Look,” which, as the name suggests, revolves around the fashion legend Christian Dior, who created the New Look in 1947. According to Apple TV+’s official description, “The New Look” will focus on the life of this former fashion legend and the myth he created in Paris, as well as how Christian Dior became the world’s most influential designer with his unique talent. The story will also be based on the Nazi occupation of Paris during World War II, with inspiration drawn entirely from real events.

Named “The New Look,” the series pays tribute to Mr. Christian Dior’s first collection launched in 1947 and the New Look design featured in it. This style, characterized by rounded shoulders, cinched waists, and long skirts, celebrates the important values of femininity and women’s fashion after years of practical utilitarian styles following the war.

However, “The New Look” will also feature another legendary designer – Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel – and tell the story of how she dramatically influenced Mr. Christian Dior. The series has also announced the casting of the two main characters, with the lead role of Mr. Christian Dior being played by Emmy Award winner Ben Mendelsohn, and Ms. Coco Chanel being played by French actress Juliette Binoche.

In addition, “The New Look” is just part of Apple TV+’s project. It is understood that this project will focus on Paris in the 20th century, highlighting how Paris at that time led the world to revive through different fashion icons. Therefore, in addition to the two fashion legends mentioned above, the project will definitely include the stories of many other fashion legends, including Pierre Balmain, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, and the story of Yves Saint Laurent, the successful student of Mr. Christian Dior.

However, Apple TV+ has not yet announced the release date of “The New Look,” and filming has not yet begun, but it can be confirmed that the series and the entire project will be exclusively filmed in Paris.
