Coach 2023 Spring/Summer Collection: Brand ambassador Lil Nas X makes a grand appearance, Tabby handbag with a new jelly style

Coach presented Creative Director Stuart Vevers’ first 2023 spring collection at New York Fashion Week, held on New York’s Park Avenue, drawing inspiration from the historic and creatively significant pier in the city, representing creativity, community identity, and historical significance. To echo the theme, the stage was specially designed to resemble a New York pier.

A major highlight of the fashion show was Coach announcing multiple platinum-selling rapper Lil Nas X as their newest global ambassador, who also performed his first runway show as the finale.

Lil Nas X said, “It was a very interesting experience to debut as a model in the Coach fashion show for the first time. Many of the values and beliefs that Coach, as a fashion brand, upholds resonate with me, so I am honored to join the brand as an ambassador and make my first appearance. I can’t wait to share the exciting new creations that I have worked on with the Stuart team.”

Stuart Vevers explores American traditions this season through fluidity and circularity, combining tradition and popular culture to create all styles and accessories with a diverse lifestyle as the design concept. Leather is a major focus of the design, using reused leather craftsmanship to create a retro taste. The opening features a series of oversized stylish leather jackets, as well as double-breasted styles, worker pants looks, and unique pieces and handbags. Additionally, there are patchwork knit sweaters and short vintage-style mini skirts adorned with black lace, along with over-dyed varsity sweaters, continuing to subvert American style with attitude. In terms of accessories, the brand gives the iconic Tabby handbag a new look, transforming it into a messenger bag style with vibrant colors and a jelly-like texture, symbolizing a fresh variation in the series’ image.
