Balenciaga’s haute couture fashion show features music by a legendary French musician?

After Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the “Fashion Capital” Paris is about to welcome Haute Couture Week, with a four-day schedule that kicked off yesterday. This season, in addition to several traditional haute couture designers and brands presenting their new season collections, the most anticipated show is undoubtedly Balenciaga Couture led by Demna Gvasalia.

The brand has confirmed that the 51st Balenciaga Haute Couture collection will be unveiled on July 6th at 6 pm Hong Kong time, which is tonight, and the live stream will be available on Balenciaga Couture.

As in previous seasons, the brand’s official Instagram account has completely cleared all content and reposted the invitation for this season. It was discovered from different accounts that this season’s physical invitation comes with a “needle and thread” sculpture made of stainless steel and gilded brass. The brand also shared that this gift symbolizes the starting point of hand-sewing and craftsmanship, paying tribute to Balenciaga’s haute couture history. Of note, the brand’s IG uploaded a teaser video showing a sundial antique clock with the name of French hall-level musician and film composer Michel Legrand, who has created or provided fashion show music for brands like CHANEL and SAINT LAURENT. From this, it can be inferred that this fashion show may be accompanied by Michel Legrand’s beautiful music.

In addition, Balenciaga recently reopened its Haute Couture boutique at the original brand store location, George Avenue 10, paying tribute to founder Mr. Cristobal Balenciaga’s history of opening his first high-end custom fashion store in 1937, becoming another historical moment since DEMNA took over as the brand’s creative director. Does the brand’s opening of this store just before the haute couture show have a direct relationship with the fashion show? Fashion enthusiasts, do not miss the upcoming announcement.
