After waiting for a long time, Sony Alpha 7R series, which focuses on high pixel full-frame, finally launched a new model, Alpha 7R V (A7RV). The body seems to have no major changes, but there are many improvements inside. Although it maintains 61 million pixels, the focusing performance has been greatly enhanced, and the subject recognition ability of photos and videos has also made a breakthrough.

The A7RV has rich image details, and the photo dynamic range can reach up to 15 levels. The anti-shake system has also been greatly improved, with the camera equipped with a more advanced gyroscope sensor and improved image stabilization algorithm for photos and videos, providing up to 8 levels of anti-shake compensation when taking photos.

The new autofocus system of A7RV, with the help of its AI processor, improves the accuracy of subject recognition by estimating body posture information. In addition, the types of AI subject recognition have also increased, including animals, cars, and insects. At the same time, many popular features of the A7R series have been comprehensively improved, including faster and more accurate real-time tracking, denser and wider autofocus points and coverage, silent shooting at 7 frames per second, and the ability to capture 583 compressed RAW images continuously. As for continuous shooting speed, it can capture 10 frames per second with full autofocus/exposure tracking.

The A7R series has always focused on photography, but the video specifications of the A7RV are also very powerful. It can shoot 8K 24/25p, 6.2K oversampled 4K non-combined videos, and also provides recording modes such as MPEG-HHEVC/H.265 encoding, 10-bit 4:2:2, making it convenient for users to edit flexibly. The new camera also enhances subject recognition during video shooting, making real-time tracking more reliable. In addition, it supports breathing motion compensation and enhances image stabilization during post-production using camera data.
