Ferrari confirms Purosangue with flagship NA V12, could it become another rare model?

When it comes to Ferrari’s dynamics in 2022, the debut in September will mark the first-ever SUV model in the brand’s history, the Ferrari Purosangue, which is definitely the most talked-about topic. As the time approaches, Ferrari recently brought the latest update, and it was even more unexpected news.

Last month, Ferrari announced on Twitter that the Purosangue SUV will be equipped with a V12 engine, and once again confirmed that it will officially debut in September this year. About a month later, the manufacturer released official news again, using different wording to indicate that the new car will be a “pure V12 model,” meaning that the Purosangue is likely to use Ferrari’s flagship 6.5 NA V12 engine.

However, the manufacturer has still kept the horsepower output of the 6.5 V12 engine a secret. But for reference, the 812 Competizione with the same engine has an output of 830 horsepower, and the final appearance of the 296 GTB also has an impressive 830 horsepower. What will the final output of the new car be? Considering it is an SUV model, it shouldn’t disappoint too much. Stay tuned.

In addition to the performance figures, Ferrari specifically mentioned that the Purosangue will only account for no more than 20% of the company’s total sales, and it is certain that in the new car sales in 2023, no more than one-fifth will be Purosangue to maintain its uniqueness. In contrast, the manufacturer also mentioned that the Icona series is similarly limited to less than 5% of the total delivery volume, while special series models such as the 812 Competizione A will account for approximately 10% of total sales.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Ferrari deliberately avoids using the term SUV to refer to the Purosangue in press releases or official announcements, which may just emphasize the manufacturer’s emphasis on the new car’s “uniqueness.” What kind of sacred figure will this new work ultimately be? Everyone definitely can’t miss its debut in September!
