Nike’s high-end creation using recycled materials, the all-new Pegasus Turbo Next Nature, has officially arrived!

The concept of sustainability has led the sportswear industry to new heights in the past five years, with Nike continuing to invest more resources in achieving this goal. Last fall, they introduced the iconic Air Zoom AlphaFly Next Nature running shoes, solidifying the brand’s position in sustainable development. Today, Nike announced another impressive breakthrough with the launch of the new Nike Pegasus Turbo Next Nature sneakers.

As the latest achievement of Nike in the field of high-performance shoe design, the new Nike Pegasus Turbo Next Nature continues the sustainable development concept of Air Zoom AlphaFly Next Nature and Nike basketball shoes Cosmic Unity, using at least 50% recycled materials in production, and the midsole of the shoe is also made of at least 55% recycled ZoomX foam.

In terms of design, it is visible from the upper that Nike’s iconic recycled Flyknit yarn is used, providing a more secure fit experience, enhancing the breathability and lightweight feel that all runners pay extra attention to.

Furthermore, the Flyknit yarn is dyed using a solution dyeing process, which has the advantage of saving up to 70 liters of water for every kilogram of yarn produced during the dyeing process. In addition, solution dyeing is more colorfast than conventional dyeing, especially on the Nike Pegasus Turbo Next Nature shoes featuring a bright orange Swoosh, indigo yarn on the sides, iridescent details on the tongue and heel, and pale yellow laces that are often pulled tight. Solution dyeing definitely helps the fibers resist fading.

Technically, Nike fully utilized the experience gained in designing Nike Running products to create the Pegasus Turbo Next Nature, such as tracing back to 2018, the first generation Pegasus Turbo drew inspiration from the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% by placing ZoomX foam in the midsole instead of using a carbon plate, allowing runners to experience a higher proportion of energy return from ZoomX foam; on the other hand, the new design also referenced the debut of the Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature last year, Nike’s first high-performance shoe made from at least 50% recycled materials, once again incorporating recycled ZoomX foam and Flyknit yarn to create another iconic top racing shoe.

This move not only helps Nike strengthen its social responsibility for sustainable development but also increases public awareness of products made from recycled materials, making a modest contribution to education. The official launch of Nike Pegasus Turbo Next Nature is pending further announcement by Nike Hong Kong, so runners should not miss it.
