Dior menswear show will debut next month! The brand recently announced that the Dior menswear led by Kim Jones will showcase the new 2022 autumn collection on December 9, with the presentation moving to Kim Jones’ hometown – London, UK.
Paris, Tokyo, Miami, this time moving to London, is the first time Kim Jones, the creative director of Dior menswear, has presented in the UK since taking office. Through this season’s presentation, the brand hopes to open a new chapter of friendship with British history, reaffirming Dior’s first local fashion show held across the Channel in 1947 under the witness of the Queen and Princess Margaret, and the close relationship with the UK.
Rarely returning to London for a presentation, Christian Dior Couture Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said: “We are delighted to showcase our autumn menswear collection abroad once again and reconnect with ‘physical shows,’ an experience more important than ever before. We are proud and excited to host this unique event in London, a city cherished by Mr. Dior and the brand since 1947, with special symbolic significance.” He further shared: “Of course, London is also the city closest to Kim Jones’ heart, his birthplace and the place where he grew up and lives. It has inspired him with its endless creativity, and Kim has always had a deep love for this city.”
For Kim Jones, who currently holds multiple positions, returning to this place where he grew up after a long time to showcase some ideas, he shared his feelings in a very simple way: “I can’t wait to hold a fashion show in my hometown.”
