Without missing a beat, led by Kim Jones, Dior Men announced in June a sudden collaboration with American rapper and music producer Travis Scott to jointly design the entire Spring 2022 collection. Several months later, the brand brings more good news for this collection, launching a brand new sneaker.
If it’s the Spring 2022 collection of Dior Men, isn’t it the B713 extra thick sneakers worn by Travis Scott himself, as well as the two sandals made with the double monk style and Dior Buckle design?
No. This time we are launching the B30 sports shoes, which did not appear in the Spring 2022 series exhibition. Inspired by the traditional running shoe silhouette, the B30 has a curved shape and a sense of fashion. The upper combines high-performance materials such as ultra-fine fibers and mesh, making the sports shoes lightweight, breathable, and resilient. The new shoes combine elegance and sporty style, and to complement the release, the brand has styled them with loose trousers or Bermuda shorts, allowing everyone to preview the effect of different casual styles paired with the B30 shoes.
In terms of design, the men’s shoe design director Thibo and the team deliberately added finishing touches to the sports shoes, drawing inspiration from French modernism, using 3M reflective materials to create the brand’s iconic “CD” logo, then changing it to a distorted font design and enlarging it, presenting the oversized font on the sides of the shoes to outline the streamlined silhouette of B30, forming a composition like a mirror image. Moreover, this oversized “CD” is also adorned on the heel and sole of the shoe.
The newly launched B30 sneakers will be available in five colors including black, white, olive green, beige, and lime green, and will be available for purchase at Dior stores starting today.
