Recently, a brand new hotel called “Kai Yufu” has opened in Yufuin, Kyushu, Japan. Not only does it have the famous Yufuin hot springs, but you can also admire the unique terraced rice fields of Yufuin! The hotel is only about a 10-minute drive from JR Yufuin Station, very convenient!
“Kaiyotei” belongs to the Japanese Hoshino Group’s hot spring brand “Kai,” with the design concept of experiencing the terraced fields in all four seasons, such as the reflection of the clear blue sky on the water surface of the terraced fields before planting in spring, and the charming scenery of golden rice ears in autumn. From the observation deck of the inn, you can enjoy the endless scenery, and you can also see Yufuin Onsen and Mount Yufu from the inn, with pleasant views.
The hotel offers two types of rooms, including standalone guest rooms and hot spring cabins, the former accompanied by expansive terraced rice field views, while the latter can soak in the hot springs of Yufuin.
The tatami mats in the room are made of rare Seven Islands rush from the eastern half of Kyushu, emitting a healing aroma, while the lamps in the room are also made of Seven Islands rush, with the design inspired by the screw-shaped “firefly cage” used to raise fireflies, bringing soft and comfortable light and indoor atmosphere.
Staying at a Japanese inn, the most anticipated thing is definitely the food! In “Kai Yufuin,” you can taste a variety of dishes made from locally sourced fresh ingredients, including hot pot! You can also experience the local culture of Yufuin by making protective charms in a unique way by twisting straw.
