Ngau Tau Kok Hong Kong-style bakery introduces a new giant-sized egg tart! Popular cookie crust egg tart/pineapple pound cake.

You can bring surprises to the bakery in public housing estates! Forest Bakery, located in Lok Wah North Village, Ngau Tau Kok, has upsized its popular Hong Kong-style egg tart into a 15cm whole cake!

The normal-sized egg tarts sold daily sell hundreds of pieces. They are made by experienced Hong Kong-style pastry chefs with many years of baking experience. The butter tart base is kneaded skillfully and each piece is very even. High-quality ingredients such as Japanese flour and New Zealand butter are used. The baked cake has a crispy outer layer, and the team constantly improves the recipe. The sweetness of the egg custard is lower than traditional ones, and it is common to see neighbors lining up to wait for the egg tarts to come out of the oven.

The host has long wanted to introduce a giant-sized egg tart cake, but has not been able to find a suitable tart mold until recently in Japan. The giant-sized egg tart is filled with black and white milk and French light cream, making the frozen egg tart even softer and smoother, while still having a rich milk and egg flavor. The crust is made using caramel technique, adding a layer of crispy caramelized texture. This “Giant Nostalgic Caramel Egg Tart” ($238) is enough for 6-8 people to enjoy.

Another huge version of the old Hong Kong-style flavor is the “Giant Golden Pineapple Cake” ($238), which is also 15cm in size and enough for 6-8 people to share. Inspired by the Hong Kong-style classic cake pineapple cake, using pound cake as the base, pineapple paste is added to the bottom of the cake, making it even more fragrant and moist. The surface is covered with slices of roasted and fragrant pineapple, which is sweet and enticing.

This Lunar New Year, there’s nothing better than celebrating with family and friends over traditional and nostalgic Hong Kong-style cakes.
