G’Day Café, located in a small lane on Hill Road in Sai Wan, offers a range of Australian-inspired dishes for dinner. Using fresh ingredients and seafood, Yen, who is both the owner and chef, creates elegant international cuisine with a delightful presentation. Yen insists on homemade preparations and cooking, resulting in dishes that are even more surprising than those found in a typical café.
The restaurant is currently offering a birthday special. From three days before to three days after your birthday, if three people dine together, you will receive a complimentary wet-aged USDA ribeye steak! The grilled wet-aged ribeye steak from the USA ($278) is juicy, tender, and comes in a generous 10-ounce portion. The most delightful surprise is the side of fries, which are fried in duck fat for a special rich and crispy flavor.
Chilled octopus with marinated Mexican chili ($128) has a refreshing and tender texture. The sauce is a homemade lime and spinach juice, with added dried onions and pine nuts for enhanced flavor and texture.
Finally, a homemade Basque cheesecake ($60), with its smooth texture and sauce, made this dinner very satisfying!
