Sha Tin’s new pet Café Doggie Beer! Hotel chef-designed menu, a variety of delicacies for dogs and owners

Dogs can drink beer? In fact, it is a 3-hour stewed cordyceps flower and wolfberry stewed duck soup! The new café Woofy, where dogs can sit indoors and eat with their owners, has a very unique dog menu!

Café owner Chef Ken has previously worked at Verandah, Chesa, Felix, and Gaddi’s in The Peninsula Hotel, and collaborated with Wong Pak Ko to open Palco Ristorante and PANO. This newly opened pet-friendly café brings the essence of French cuisine into casual and affordable dishes.

The dog menu offers ten options, including cakes, meat pies, ice cream, slow-cooked beef ribs, etc. The crystal-clear winter-shaped jelly is actually the “Vegetable and Pork Liver French Frozen Pie” (HK$68), inspired by the French dish Terrine, where the pork liver is slow-cooked at 68 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes, and made into a soft and smooth jelly suitable for dogs to eat.

The “Paparazzi Beer” (HK$68) is the most interesting, with the daily freshly stewed soup in the store, stewing rice duck, cordyceps flower, and wolfberry for 3 hours, removing the residue and putting it in the refrigerator to cool overnight, cleaning up the solidified oil on the surface the next day, and then heating it to room temperature before letting the dog drink. With so much care and time, how pampered the dog is!

There are also “Purple Sweet Potato Salmon Pie” (HK$68) made with rice noodles as the base, and “Beetroot Cake” (HK$38) made with cheese, corn flour, and natural beetroot juice, which are natural ingredients suitable for dogs’ stomachs and health.

The fur baby eats happily, and the owner should also reward themselves. With a menu curated by Chef Ken, there are many choices, even more extensive than a typical café.

“The French quail salad with orange and grapefruit” (HK$118) features tender and fragrant French quail breast meat, while the “Grilled Vietnamese prawns with lobster cream sauce pasta” (HK$188) uses low-temperature drying for the lobster head and red rice prawns, which are then crushed and cooked with butter, combined with a lobster soup base made from tomatoes and cream, served with Vietnamese prawns, creating a delicious and flavorful dish!

“The homemade beef patty in the “Egg and Cheese Burger with Teriyaki Sauce and Sweet Potato Fries” (HK$148) is pan-fried to perfection, glazed with teriyaki sauce, sandwiched between crispy on the outside and soft on the inside bread, and topped with Brie cheese, creating a rich flavor! The “Caramelized Pork Belly with Croffle and Waffle Cone” (HK$148) features a Croffle with 3-hour steamed Dutch pork belly, accompanied by caramelized onions and maple syrup.”

The featured drink is “Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream Strawberry Soda”, Hokkaido 5.0 milk ice cream is extremely soft and smooth, every sip is also cool and comfortable!

The café has indoor and outdoor seating, with a spacious layout. A row of bench-style stairs allows dogs to roam freely, and outside the café is a large outdoor pet playground, perfect for walking and letting pets “release energy”!
