Central’s new Mediterranean restaurant! Fresh raw red fish slices / Grilled Black Angus beef steak / Grilled peach dessert

There is another new Mediterranean restaurant! Basin will officially open in Central this month, with the restaurant named after the Mediterranean Basin for inspiration. The interior design follows a simple style, with elements of gold and deep blue that are rich in Mediterranean characteristics. The restaurant also features a series of works by local photographer Robert Lam, adding a touch of artistic flair.

Basin’s dishes blend the three major European traditional cuisines from the Mediterranean region, including French, Spanish, and Italian cuisines. The flavorful dishes include Italian zucchini flowers with sheep’s milk cheese, walnuts, truffles, acacia honey, as well as smoked sardines with garlic almond sauce and Mediterranean burnt orange meringue crisps.

During the restaurant’s trial period, there are eight dishes on the tasting menu, including fresh raw tuna slices with scallion oil, sun-dried tomatoes, kumquats, and plum vinegar, as well as grilled Black Angus steak with red pepper sauce, traditional mustard sauce, and veal jus. For dessert, there is grilled peaches with honey Mascarpone cheese and pistachios, as well as sea salt hazelnut chocolate mousse.

During the grand opening period, the restaurant will only offer dinner service, and starting from the end of August, it will gradually open for lunch and weekend brunch.
