Unboxing and testing Dreyer’s first vegetarian series! Creamy soy protein ice cream, zero trans fat!

by

Under the plant-based diet trend, there are more and more choices for vegan ice cream. Recently, Dreyer’s also launched its first Plant-based series, with a total of three flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and mango. Made with soy protein without milk, each flavor also includes Okara bean curd cookie crumbs, and without preservatives, zero trans fats.

What is the taste and texture of soy ice cream? Let’s unbox and test it now! It has a rich soy flavor, with plenty of Okara cookies in the middle, adding a crunchy texture. Vanilla is more subtle, chocolate flavor is the most intense, and mango flavor is like eating a mango ice bar!

If you want a creamier texture, you can let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes until the ice cream slightly melts, then it will have a smoother texture!

For vegetarians or even lactose intolerant individuals, this ice cream series is definitely a cost-effective choice. Available in single cups (HK$19) to satisfy your “ice cream craving,” you can purchase them at supermarkets or convenience stores. If you want to try multiple flavors, there is also the option of a mixed four-cup pack (HK$59.9)!
