The Eastward Express “Take Your Time Art Feast”, showcasing the wonders of time through a multi-sensory experience.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Orient Watch. Following the earlier release of a promotional video with the theme “Take Your Time,” highlighting the spirit of Orient Watch advancing with the times and taking new steps towards the future, the brand has once again presented a sensory feast, leading everyone to further experience the true essence of “Take Your Time.”

This time, Oriental Watch Company collaborates with the unique and renowned Hong Kong restaurant Madame Fù to present a limited-time “Take Your Time Art Feast,” designed to combine Eastern and Western delicacies for a multi-sensory experience of color, fragrance, and taste. This fusion of cuisines aligns perfectly with Oriental Watch Company’s brand philosophy of heritage, innovation, and the convergence of Eastern and Western cultural essence. Additionally, the company has invited award-winning local artist Chan Chin to create an installation painting titled “Discovery of Time – 1961” for the dining venue. Using overlapping colors to symbolize the accumulation of time, the artist’s unique perspective allows Oriental Watch Company and guests to experience the mysteries of time together. The background of the painting intentionally starts from the year of Oriental Watch Company’s establishment in 1961, reflecting the historical evolution of the company.

The menu named “Take Your Time Art Feast” is meticulously designed by Chef Liau Wai Kit from Madame Fù, with each dish aiming to embody the spirit of “enjoying a moment of time art, savoring a moment of exquisite cuisine, and relishing a moment of cultivated wisdom.”

For Master Chef Liau Weijie, who excels in creating top-notch creative cuisine, advanced cooking is a must to understand time, respect time, and collaborate seamlessly with time as an art. In this “Take Your Time Art of Time Feast” meticulously designed six-course menu, Master Chef Liau Weijie has put careful thought into dish design, ingredient selection, cooking techniques, and presentation arrangements. The six courses include (1) Golden Age; (2) Dragon Soaring Millennium; (3) Silky Memories; (4) Green Celebration; (5) Blessings and Longevity; and (6) Sweet Moments. Each dish is cooked with precise timing, making it a true fusion of art and time, fully showcasing the profound meaning of the “Take Your Time Art of Time Feast.”

The installation painting “Discovery of Time ~ 1961” created by local artist Chen Shan takes inspiration from seemingly ordinary calendars. Through the technique of overlapping colors and concepts, the artist presents a metaphor for the accumulation of time – filling different months with colors: starting with the first day filling in the grid of the previous year, continuing to fill from the second grid of each month to the last day of the month, and repeating from the third grid on the third day, and so on. When all 30 grid squares of each month are filled, it represents the completion of a year, creating a systematic experience. Another unique aspect of the work is the display of the thickness of the oil paint through lighting, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the interplay of day and night at the same time. Each painting is a record of time; on a familiar calendar, through the light, the layers of paint are a reenactment of time. The installation work demonstrates how the artist combines the accumulation of time with the magic of mechanics, aligning perfectly with the concept of a clock.

This time, the Oriental Watch Company selected the calendar pattern of 1961, hoping to lead everyone back to the year of the establishment of the Oriental Watch Company in 1961, to feel the mystery of the trajectory of time together with the viewers, and also to trigger everyone’s exploration and reflection on the mystery of time.

“Take Your Time Art Feast” is presented at Madame Fú in Tai Kwun from now until December 10. Each guest who tastes the “Take Your Time Art Feast” will receive an art canvas bag with the concept of “Discovery of Time – 1961” – the inside printed with the month of November 2021, symbolizing the journey of guests from 1961 to the present, commemorating this important month of the establishment of the Eastern Watch Company. Interested friends may call or email the restaurant to make a reservation, to visually, olfactorily, and gustatorily enjoy this feast, and together contemplate the meaning of time.
