CHANEL Fall/Winter 2022/23 Haute Couture Collection, top jewelry “1932” pays tribute to the 1930s.

Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2022 Haute Couture Collection was unveiled at the Étrier de Paris, located at the Paris Equestrian School. Artistic Director Virginie Viard once again collaborated with artist Xavier Veilhan, French singer Sébastien Tellier, brand ambassador Moroccan Princess Charlotte Casiraghi, as well as Pharrell Williams and brand model Vivienne Rohner, to create the ideal fashion show for this season.

The runway takes visual illusion as a design inspiration, cleverly combining various shapes and lines to create optical illusion effects, accompanied by music, making people feel immersed in it. The new collection reshapes Chanel’s classic designs for women in the 1930s, including multiple suits, long skirts, with sharper shoulder lines that still perfectly fit the body, as well as pleated gowns resembling wedding dresses. Curved shoulder lines, square back designs, geometric shapes, and embroidered patterns pay tribute to the 1930s while also looking back to the 1970s. In terms of color, it consists of bright green, khaki, beige, pink, black, and silver.

The new “1932” high jewelry collection also made its debut, paying tribute to Ms. Gabrielle Chanel’s first high jewelry collection “Bijoux de Diamants” launched in 1932, featuring brooches and necklaces designed with elements of stars, moons, and suns, complementing haute couture.

Virginie Viard wants to convey: “I like to break the graphic appearance with natural shapes, keeping it light, feminine, and designed for wearing.” The series uses variations of diagonal twill wool to present a casual and natural beauty in men’s wide-brimmed hats, continuing the brand’s consistent intellectual elegance.
