#Paris Fashion Week: Chloé 2022 Fall/Winter Collection, climate disasters turned into prints, promoting environmental sustainability issues

by

To count as a pioneer in the fashion industry, in addition to the well-known Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, there is also Gabriela Hearst. Since becoming the creative director of Chloé, every season’s theme has revolved around the word “environmental protection.” The 2022 autumn/winter collection once again focuses on the issue of environmental climate change, with every aspect, clothing material, and collaboration with non-profit organizations all aimed at pushing the fashion industry towards a sustainable journey.

Chloé’s 2022 autumn/winter collection, named “Climate Success,” sees Gabriela Hearst transforming the anxiety brought on by climate change into fashion elements.

The series contrasts the scenes of forest fires, melting icebergs, droughts, and other climate disasters with beautiful landscapes. These images are transformed into printed patterns, presented on recycled Kashmir wool knits and intarsia knits, as well as hand-painted decorative accessories.

It is worth mentioning that the proceeds from the Climate Success series will be donated to the Indigenous Women Fellowship program launched by Conservation International, assisting indigenous women to become self-reliant and leaders, actively protecting their habitats and forests in the Amazon.
