#Milan Fashion Week: Diesel by Glenn Martens 2022 Fall/Winter Collection, a rebellious and playful journey of denim fashion.

Following Diesel’s creative director Glenn Martens, who is constantly striving to subvert the brand’s traditional image. Skilled in deconstruction, in the Fall/Winter 2022 collection, he attempts to reinterpret, and even lead the brand to create a brilliant myth once again.

The venue was designed by Niklas Bildstein Zaar, who had previously created concert venues for Ye. Giant inflatable dolls were placed on the sky bridge as decorations, creating a seductive and playful fantasy.

The collection is mainly focused on men’s and women’s denim clothing, using recycled denim, cotton, and stretch cotton, as well as waterless indigo dyeing technology.

Staying true to Glenn Martens’ bold style, many denim pieces in the collection deliberately emphasize the waist design, with oversized denim belts resembling skirts that appear to be held together by just one rope, but actually have a hidden belt inside.

Some designs have incorporated unique coating treatments, making the clothes stiff while emitting a glossy sheen, creating a “peeling” texture for denim, and hand-cutting to create an artificial fur effect, much like peeling layers of posters off a wall.

Finally, on the catwalk, models covered in metallic pink, powder blue, and gold appeared, wearing clothing with metallic coatings that matched their skin tone, exuding a futuristic vibe, bringing this rebellious and playful denim fashion experiment to a climax!
