#London Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood’s 2022 Spring/Summer Collection revisits her signature pieces from the 90s, reinterpreting classic nautical elements.

by

No matter how the fashion world changes, Vivienne Westwood always remains true to herself! This season, she once again reimagines one of her most memorable collections from her creative career, drawing inspiration from the “Tied to the Mast” Spring/Summer 1998 collection, transforming its classic nautical elements into modern clothing.

Vivienne Westwood is fully committed to promoting environmental protection, using “Save Our Souls, SOS” as the theme of the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, embracing the idea of saving the world by creatively addressing issues of overproduction and excess clothing.

The series is made from environmentally friendly and recycled fabrics and fibers, with the wool sourced from regenerative agriculture farms, in line with the brand’s philosophy of “Buy Less, Choose Well, Make it Last”.

Throughout the entire series, you can see many of Vivienne Westwood’s signature designs from the 90s, using a collision of new and old elements to create avant-garde designs, such as reproducing the 1998 sailor pattern on denim through laser printing.

The brand’s iconic corset has become a jacket, or paired with a white tee, turning the classic design into sustainable fashion.
