Speaking of the Japanese manga “Sailor Moon,” I believe it will awaken many people’s childhood memories. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this best-selling classic manga, Sandra Choi, the creative director of Jimmy Choo, specially collaborated with Naoko Takeuchi, the author of “Sailor Moon,” to bring a series of limited edition shoes and handbags.
This collection aims to promote a bold and expressive image that embodies the spirit of the times and the shared values of female empowerment. The designs are inspired by the five most important Sailor Moon characters, each of whom has a strong personal style and a distinct representative color. The shoes they wear are not only a symbol but also an essential item for transformation and battle.
The collection includes five shoe styles, representing Usagi Tsukino’s pink peach-colored high boots, adorned with sparkling Swarovski crystals; boots inspired by Ami Mizuno, with a new interpretation in glossy patent leather; Rei Hino’s red shiny high heels; Makoto Kino’s green lace-up boots, perfectly showcasing her strong and determined nature; and finally, Minako Aino’s orange satin high heels, also adorned with gorgeous Swarovski crystals. In addition, there are two handbag designs that feature scenes from the manga, including the iconic moment of Usagi Tsukino kissing Tuxedo Mask.
Jimmy Choo’s Sailor Moon collaboration series will be exclusively released worldwide on February 14th, including Tokyo Isetan Department Store, London Sheffield Department Store, and the Jimmy Choo flagship store at Harbour City. It will provide an immersive shopping experience and dazzling installations inspired by the transformation process of Sailor Moon.
