Promoting sustainable development! Nike’s new “Nike Forward” series, the result of more than 5 years of innovation.

Climate change and sustainable development are issues that brands cannot ignore. Nike has always been committed to these areas, and has recently announced its innovative achievement after more than 5 years of research and development – Nike Forward. This is Nike’s most important clothing innovation technology since Dri-Fit, and its significance is comparable to iconic technologies such as Nike Air, Flyknit, Flyleather, Space Hippie, and Next Nature.

Nike is committed to sustainable development and promotes the “Move To Zero” initiative, moving towards the goals of “zero carbon emissions” and “zero waste” through waste reduction in production lines, sustainable packaging, renewable energy, and eco-friendly logistics. The latest Nike Forward has abandoned traditional knitting and weaving techniques, replacing the complex production process with fewer steps: for example, spinning, weaving, cutting, sewing, etc., turning fibers directly into textiles through needle punching technology; the simplified process also means less energy consumption, with significantly lower carbon emissions than Nike’s traditional brushed fabrics; in terms of material density, it is lighter than traditional knitted fabrics and is made with some recycled materials.

In terms of design, Nike Forward launches a series of the most classic and popular gray hoodies, abandoning the traditional dyeing process, and eliminating decorations, zippers, or accessories. It specially uses unprocessed cut pockets to make the clothing easier to recycle. The simplification process also saves water resources, and the principle of sustainability will run through the design of the entire product.

Nike Forward will debut with hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts, starting to be released globally on September 15, 2022.
