Bottega Veneta collaborates with the century-old New York bookstore The Strand to create limited edition Tote Bag.

During the 2023 Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week, Bottega Veneta participated in a unique way by collaborating with the legendary local bookstore The Strand, drawing inspiration from the must-have canvas Tote Bag, and jointly releasing three collaborative leather Tote Bags.

Founded in 1927, The Strand, a New York bookstore with nearly a century of history, is not only a pilgrimage site for tourists, but also a favorite of Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy. This time, under Matthieu Blazy’s guidance, the canvas Tote Bag has been redesigned, incorporating luxurious and delicate leather. In addition to the black and bright yellow versions, the iconic Intrecciato weaving technique has been added. Each collaborative bag is printed with The Strand’s red oval logo and “18 Miles Of Books,” indicating the store’s rich collection of books. However, it is said that the books in the store now stretch for more than 18 miles, reaching a length of 23 miles!

To celebrate this collaboration, Creative Director Matthieu Blazy specially commissioned a series of comics from “The New Yorker” as a commemoration, and also selected some of his favorite books, including various topics such as art, photography, fashion, architecture, etc. These books will be available at The Strand until September 30th.
