Armani/Silos 展覽館新展覽:匯聚10位國際攝影師,鏡頭下的不一樣視角

Fashion master Mr. Armani not only loves fashion, but is also an art enthusiast. In order to promote art and culture, he specifically chose a location opposite the Giorgio Armani headquarters in Milan, Italy to open a dedicated exhibition space called Armani/Silos. Since its opening in 2015, in addition to showcasing the brand’s own classic works, it also holds various exhibitions in different art fields from time to time. The latest large-scale exhibition, titled “Magnum Photos – Colors, Places, Faces,” showcases the unique perspectives of 10 international photographers and their individual views on photography. Using a complex multi-faceted narrative, through a kaleidoscope-like diverse perspective, it reflects the unique combination of art, news, and stories.

This exhibition is co-curated by Giorgio Armani and Magnum Photos, featuring artists who are either still alive or have passed away. However, they seem to be united by the same desire to explore reality, injecting insights and emotions into their images. The photography subjects cover a wide range, such as Christopher Anderson capturing the faces of the Chinese people; Olivia Arthur gazing through the eyes of a wanderer returning after fifty years to witness Dubai’s transformation from a village to an international city; Bruno Barbey telling the long story of Morocco escaping modernization; Werner Bischof capturing the urban vitality of New York; Rene Burri viewing architecture as a social and political space; Harry Gruyaert seeing the coastline as the boundary between land and water; Martin Parr sharply dissecting British life; Gueorgui Pinkhassov capturing the beauty of Tokyo and Venice; Newsha Tavakolian depicting daily life in Iran; Alex Webb capturing the saturated colors of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Mr. Armani said, “Photography has always fascinated me because the emotions it evokes are similar to the surprise felt when observing reality from an unexpected perspective. The exhibition leads us on a rich and colorful journey to appreciate the world and culture, whether near or far, through the personal lenses and visions of the artists.” He believes that the photographers of Magnum Photos not only focus on history but also inspire people to see reality in a whole new way through different perspectives. By the way, this exhibition also supports a project initiated by Save the Children.

The “Magnum Photos – Color, Field, Face” exhibition will be open to the public from now until November 6, 2022.
