Local artist LeonLollipop, known for his original “Gloomie” oil paintings, is currently hosting a solo art exhibition titled “Gloomie’s Art Room.” The exhibition showcases over 20 new artworks, including the “Lucky Gloomie Fortune Cat” and “Meow-val” superhero cat series in anticipation of the upcoming year 2023, as well as the adorable “Gloomie Dream” 3D vinyl sculpture!
Before entering the exhibition hall, the eye-catching “Lucky Gloomie Fortune Cat” with a festive atmosphere captures the attention of the audience. In order to welcome the coming new year, Leon specially transformed Gloomie into a fortune cat, with a background adorned with precious gold foil, shining brightly, wishing everyone a year of hope and luck.
In addition, Leon has specially created 4 new Meow-val superhero cat series inspired by characters in superhero movies. The cats have transformed into superheroes, looking extremely cool!
The exhibition brings another classic creation by Leon, the “Mosaic” series. “Koi Mosaic” is themed around the auspicious “Nine Carp” and depicts nine lively carps playing in the water, each with its own expression. The pronunciation of “carp” is similar to “profit,” and red fish are believed to bring good luck and wealth. The number “nine” represents longevity and enduring prosperity, while the word “fish” carries the meaning of “surplus.” Together, they symbolize the beautiful blessing of “abundance year after year.” This time, the “White Horse Mosaic” is introduced, which is equally vibrant in color and symbolizes auspiciousness and success.
The artist’s vinyl 3D sculpture “Gloomie” ArtToy, which was first released last year, received a warm welcome. This year, he has created a 60cm tall angel version called “Gloomie Dream”. This exhibition will be the first time it is available for sale, with a limited edition of 38 pieces. Each set comes with a handwritten signature and a certificate with a unique number. Fans, remember to seize the opportunity to collect it.
Finally, the artist once again collaborated with local coffee brand stain+ to launch a limited edition Mosaic Carp series coffee gift box. The two gift boxes include coffee drip bags with different flavors and roasting depths, accompanied by LeonLollipop’s artwork and a special edition coffee pour-over kettle. It is a thoughtful choice as a Christmas or New Year gift.
