「A Brand New Day」畫展

“Every day in life is an irreplaceable existence. By appreciating all things with heart, cherishing everything around us, and admiring every beautiful detail in life, even ordinary days can be filled with hope.” This is the unique philosophy of Taiwanese artist Leoz Weng. “Yidi” Art Space will soon hold an exhibition called “A Brand New Day,” marking Leoz’s first solo exhibition, which is sure to usher in a splendid new day for both the artist and the viewers.

The highlight of this exhibition is Leoz Wemg’s new series “Little Forest Elves”. This series is based on the artist’s two daughters, and through the companionship of imaginary friends, it dispels loneliness and provides solace to the soul. In this way, the small forest where the elves reside is a dreamland, a sanctuary where people can temporarily escape from reality.

《冬春交織》

The theme painting “Winter and Spring Interwoven” is full of the vibrant vitality of winter turning into spring, where the snow and bare trees at the end of winter are not dim, but instead become the playground for the little forest elves to laugh and play. The little girl lies comfortably on the snow, mingling with the elves who have come out to play. Do her lazy eyes also bring everyone a deep sense of infinite comfort from the bottom of their hearts?

In the painting “Pure Land”, the little girl not only stands on the big black ball symbolizing challenges, but also has many small black balls surrounding her head. However, she guards her own “Pure Land” in her heart, and her inner self is still vibrant, like a blooming garden. Various little elves also encourage her with smiles, enabling her to face challenges with grace and elegance. In the face of the complexities and distractions of life, we indeed need to continue to nourish ourselves in such a small forest.

《沉潛》

Escaping to the small forest does not mean “escaping”. In “Submersion”, the little girl relaxes her body, slowly descending towards the ocean symbolizing the soul, rediscovering the vibrant beauty of the small forest at the bottom of the sea, meeting friendly and kind elf friends again, injecting new vitality into herself, and gaining new strength. When she rises to the surface again, she will face the “new day” with a strong heart.

《結果》

A new day certainly cannot be without partners who share and support each other. Leoz Weng’s “Connection” and “Result” not only remind people of mutual reliance and co-cultivation of results, but also evoke the idea of sharing the same taste, and the inseparable bond of friendship like pulling silk.

The exhibition also includes works such as “Sense of Balance,” “Don’t Mess with Me,” “Overlap,” “Full of Prosperity,” etc. The little girl sometimes has a pancake on her head, sometimes a cactus full of spikes, sometimes various cute elves on her head. The picture is vivid and amusing, reflecting the unique feelings of the creators in the moment of each day. Everyone is welcome to visit in person.
