Korean popular character LYCHEE & FRIENDS will start the “FRIENDS.S.S.S. – The Palette Masquerade” world art tour in September this year, with the first stop landing at SHOUT Gallery in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. This exhibition brings together original works from 15 artists from Korea, Japan, Argentina, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, covering a wide range of mediums including oil painting, watercolor, ceramics, and sculpture. The content is very rich!
LYCHEE & FRIENDS is a fashion brand founded by a Korean design team in 2016. The brand actively collaborates with artists and designers from around the world, and has recently made a name for itself in the art and trendy play world, hosting various art projects.
Following last year’s Christmas collaboration with artist Joo Jae Bum in Seoul, this year we are taking it to the next level by organizing a world art tour. The first stop is in Hong Kong, where local audiences will have the opportunity to see the original works of participating artists, including Korean artists Moon Seung-yeon, Choi Ha Young, and Joo Jae Bum; Japanese painters Ayaïro, Wakaru, and Yuta Nishiura; Argentine artist Javier González Burgos; Taiwanese ceramic artist Guo Shufan; Indonesian multimedia artist Redmiller Blood; Filipino artists Genichi (GNCH) and Kapitan; as well as Hong Kong artist Christy Lai, and local artists Zoie Lam, Maisie Tse, and Whimsy Du.
This art joint exhibition is themed “Appreciating the Encounter, As If Seeing It for the First Time”. Through the unique artistic language and style of the creators, it shapes the image of LYCHEE Bear meeting new friends from around the world – from the strong and vivid colors of Impressionism, to the imagery of entering the surreal world of Post-Impressionism, and the “super flat” trend art, etc. – with LYCHEE’s works in different tones and images, interpreting the diverse art of the new generation.
In addition to the original artworks, the exhibition will also feature 10 limited edition prints created in collaboration with artists, each accompanied by a certificate personally signed by the artist, making them highly collectible. Furthermore, LYCHEE & FRIENDS has teamed up with the renowned designer toy brand Unbox Industries to create a brand new vinyl figure series “The Baller”, which will be available for exclusive purchase at the exhibition hall.
