The cute girl with the “mushroom head” hairstyle in Chocolate Rain may not be unfamiliar to everyone. It turns out that she has been around for 22 years, accompanying a generation of Hong Kong people as they grow up. Recently, Chocolate Rain creative director Prudence Mak brought her second exhibition since entering the industry, showcasing over a hundred works that document her artistic journey and growth.

In this exhibition, Prudence simply uses a paintbrush to create her story character Fatina Dreams on the canvas – a puppet who always closes her eyes to dream, feels the joy and happiness in life, and shares her own growth experience, artistic inspiration, and dedication to art with visitors. Audiences can witness the artist’s painting journey through the transformation of themes, colors, and creative techniques. The painting style is simple and natural, mainly focusing on circles to avoid giving a too rigid and serious feeling, highlighting the artist’s pursuit of diversity and flexibility in art.

Prudence also pays tribute to artists she admires and is inspired by, including ceramic artist Clarice Cliff, French poet and artist Jean Cocteau, abstract master Picasso, Louise Bourgeois famous for her “MAMAM” giant spider sculpture, and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, who has taken polka dot pumpkins to the next level, they are all sources of artistic inspiration for artists.

On the wall facing the entrance, there are multiple small windows of various sizes and heights, allowing the audience to catch a glimpse of the artist’s imagined dream life. Among them are hidden the artist’s precious paintings from different angles, waiting for the audience to discover one by one during the process of peeping.

In addition, outside the exhibition venue, there are large inflatable installations for visitors to take photos with. During the exhibition period, workshops and sharing sessions hosted by the artist Maya Duan will be held every Friday to Sunday. Don’t miss out!
