The popular exhibition “Spring Blossoms, Autumn Fruits” returns in glory! The annual first exhibition of Li Weige gathers top-notch masterpieces from the East and West.

「Eternal Seasons 春華秋實」厲蔚閣 levy gorvy

After the first two chapters of the “Eternal Seasons” exhibition, Levy Gorvy returns with the latest chapter in the spring of 2022. The first exhibition focused on the works of Impressionist and modern art masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Edvard Munch; the second chapter brought paintings and sculptures by post-war contemporary international artists, both of which received great acclaim.

The latest exhibition has arrived, with the gallery bringing together a collection of masterpieces from various Western artists to explore the changing seasons, the evolution of life, and the universe through the eyes of the artists. Highlights include works by post-war and contemporary masters such as Françoise Gilot, Yayoi Kusama, and James Rosenquist. Paintings by artists from China, including Ding Yi, Liang Ying, Ni Youyu, and Tang Yongxiang, are also making a new statement in Chinese art. Here are some selected art treasures for you.

Yayoi Kusama’s work “Infinity – Universe (NBCF)”, created in 2014, embodies a highly avant-garde style. It continues the artist’s longest-running series “Infinity Nets” that she started after moving to New York in 1958, featuring the iconic repetitive dots. Building upon this foundation, the piece further develops with a collision of multiple colors, intricate variations of images, and organic forms, presenting a dynamic three-dimensional spacetime.

In James Rosenquist’s “Untitled,” a flower-dominated painting is covered with irregular striped collages, with mysterious and enticing female lips and eyes appearing faintly, achieving a surreal juxtaposition of familiar images, and the rich colors displayed showcase abundant emotions.

Françoise Gilot 《⼭脈》

French artist Françoise Gilot exhibits her work “Mountains,” capturing the creativity and tension that roam between abstraction and concreteness. With a minimalist style, structured composition, and high color saturation, she expresses natural and passionate emotions.

Other highlighted works also include three “Artist’s Bedroom” pieces by Ni Youwei (2021), which pay tribute to Van Gogh and explore the common furnishings in the bedroom to explore the cycle of life, and this work will also be exhibited in the artist’s important solo exhibition in mainland China.

In addition, with the integration of Lehmann Maupin globally, the works of artists Huma Bhabha, Marilyn Minter, Elizabeth Neel, and Betty Woodman will also meet the audience in Asia for the first time, achieving a rich and diverse aesthetic journey.

It is highly recommended for everyone to personally visit an exhibition where you can appreciate the works of masters from both the East and the West at the same time!
