Foodie Sister teams up with Garfield again! Pop-Up gallery featuring the latest art projects from 3 local artists!

The popular character in “Plastic Thing” is Foodie Sister, who teamed up with Garfield to bravely explore the Hong Kong City Art Museum two months ago, sharing their humorous daily lives with everyone and receiving a warm welcome from fans. A month later, they collaborated again, this time moving from the exhibition venue to Times Square in Causeway Bay with Whateversmiles, bringing surprises to everyone with other creators’ cartoon characters!

To celebrate the first anniversary of the online art platform Whateversmiles, this time they are collaborating with Times Square to create a Pop-Up Gallery, showcasing various local art series. In addition to continuing the Garfield x Plastic Thing “GARFATTY BELLY LAUGHS” series, the gallery will also feature illustrator Yip Yan’s latest art project “Plastic Think,” artist Denise Ho’s cartoon character series “Dubie,” and local artist Alco Leung’s “The Little Greens” series. It’s definitely worth checking out!

In the Garfield x Plastic Thing series, the gluttonous nature of Forfoodie is brought out, as she interacts mischievously and sparks fly with Garfield, who also loves to eat and drink, continuing to spread laughter to everyone. This time, they will showcase new artwork, showing everyone what kind of antics they will get up to while staying at home.

In addition, the creator of “Plastic Thing”, Yip Yan, will bring her “Plastic Think” series created since 2020 to this exhibition. This series is themed “A little bit fun with a little bit dark”, using childlike drawings to express thoughts and feelings about life. This is her first time turning her works into NFT, and those who purchase the series will also receive the original NFT, which is a great deal.

I believe everyone knows that artist Joey Yung loves to collect physical and encrypted artworks. Last month, it was reported that she made a profit of over a million dollars by investing in NFT with her partner. However, she also loves art creation, and this exhibition will showcase the “Dubie” series created by her and Whateversmiles. The works will be exhibited for the first time during Joey’s birthday period on March 22nd.

Local creator Alco Leung’s character, The Little Greens – Cactti, will also be exhibited at the event. Cactti is a curious little cactus child from a distant barren desert, and the story tells of his new adventure in the city. This animated story has been selected for this year’s animation support program and will represent Hong Kong at the international film and television exhibition. This is the first time facing the audience, so everyone is encouraged to show their support.

This limited-time exhibition showcases art creations from popular illustrators and artists, with each cartoon character being very charming. There is also a Pop-Up Store on-site, allowing everyone to bring them all home. It is definitely worth a visit in person!
