Engage in a dialogue with yourself in the portrait, and let the local NFT exhibition guide you to start the “monologue” of self-exploration!

How long has it been since you had a conversation with yourself? In the fast-paced city, each of us plays different roles in life, and over time, everyone begins to lose sight of who their true self is. Recently, the local art creation unit BIKUTA MALAMIA held its first individual NFT virtual space exhibition “Le monologue 獨白”, starting from the concept of twins, leading the audience to rediscover themselves through portrait paintings and monologue short phrases.

For exhibition creators, twins have always been a fascinating presence. It’s amazing to have two individuals in the world who are so alike yet completely independent, contradictory yet mutually dependent. Whether it’s their facial expressions or gestures, they seem like another version of oneself. It’s like having those two selves, the outer and inner, at the same time, in order to engage in the deepest and most honest dialogue with oneself. Only through communication can they coexist peacefully and harmoniously in the long run.

Inspired by this, BIKUTA MALAMIA’s founder, Peter Wu, used himself as a starting point in the Le monologue series of 8 works, incorporating his own characteristics by using self-portraits to interpret two similar yet different versions of himself, reminding each viewer: only you can define yourself. The artist hopes that this can serve as a starting point to guide everyone back to themselves to reflect on which one is the true self.

This exhibition will be held for the first time in the online virtual space of Spatial, selecting a virtual platform as the venue and using NFT as the medium, which corresponds to the theme of this monologue series. Each NFT is a unique independent unit, just like every person in the world, unique and irreplaceable.

I hope everyone can immerse themselves in the virtual space, look at virtual works, and rediscover their true selves.
